Some moron trying some stupidity. Whats got me worried is the amount of levee system we have in Louisiana relative to the river. Its impossible to guard all of it. Anybody else concerned with this thought?

No concern whatsoever regarding the levees. It'd be catastrophic if they targeted the Morganza spillway though.

You understand it would actually be more catastrophic if they blew a BR or NOLA levee.

Memo to CIA when this pops up on their webwatch:

He's really a nice guy and no terrorist.

Hrm, short term dmg to a city versus an irreversible changing of the flow of the Mississippi River, thus rendering the port of New Orleans useless.

On the upside, it'd spur phenomenal growth for Morgan City. Decisions, decisions.

Oh, I see what you meant and do understand your angle now.

Thought it was cute anyway and like to pick so...

When someone said that they saw a Blackhawk patrolling the levees I I knew then, if it was true, that the govmt was taking that shite seriously. They would be bigger idiots not to. I think one of those helicopters would destroy any threat.

I was worried earlier this week about some stupid stuff like that. Figure the FQ in NO would have been a prime target spot

The government should take the threat seriously.

There have been levees on the Mississippi since 1718. There have been explosions that broke levees and they've not always been a decision by officials.

Some people are protecting their property. Some people are simply misanthropes. There's no reason to believe human nature has changed.

There are undoubtedly people who feel the Federal government should have no role in managing the river and it should not be spending taxpayer dollars on flood control. After all, isn't the Army Corp of Engineers and its Mississippi River projects a prime example of "nanny" government?

In 1993, some idiot in Missouri sabotaged a levee so he could miss work. It flooded hundreds of acres. He is doing life at Potosi.
