hypothetical question about the current state of the river?

to save myself from being called Adolph, Nazi, brat boy ect. I'm not going to post it but I'm sure most of you have seen the picture of the large sea vessel passing in front of the St. Louis Cathedral. If you haven't go to nola.com, weather.com, TD.com, pretty much any site that would show relevance to nola or LA.
first of all I want to make a point of saying there should be no reason why a vessel like this should be going up river right at the state it's in. By no means am I a sea vessel captain or civil engineer that works on levees. But it seems to me this would only add fuel to the fire to say if this thing gets knocked off track causes impact and breaching occurs. But here we go.
What would be the impact of flooding to downtown NOLA if this happens right in front of the convention center? How many feet of water? I live a few blocks away from there. Would I be okay in the second floor of my building?

I'm no expert, but the weight of those ships seems marginal compared to the volume of water. I doubt it causes much of a rise.

Nevermind and my apology cause you'd know.
Btw, I read in the comments from the link you posted and don't think it's a legit pic. At least one person said that, anyway. Maybe that's why you said hypothetical.

There would 15-20 feet in the FQ. It would be terrible.
