In the next few weeks, do any of you see a concern traveling from Houma to Laffy?
Calumet cut (I believe that's the name) looks high as hell right now.

I would LOVE to see this place next week. The amount of water going through there will be unreal. We need a video of it

Went and saw it up close on Friday. I'll go back on Wed and post a few pics if nobody else has.

Water was screaming through already. The biggest difference that I noticed was the amount of debris in the water .

When I passed through today, water was kiting through and water was already on the front steps of those morons who decided to build on the Laffy side. They were just sitting on the front steps watching it.

Depending on the success of the barge/dam project in Bayou Chene, Highway 90 between Morgan City and Houma will come very close to having water on it, or at least very near it.

I think a short stretch of 90 will be shut down tomorrow morning while they move the big oak tree that they are trying to save. Its supposed to take about 3 hours.

THat I see there being a problem; on that un-elevated stretch through the Chackahoula swamp.

Hwy 90 gets really low just before the Amelia overpass, I'll bet the water comes over onto the hwy right there.

Wife told me she read that hwy 90 will be closed in multiple sections from Amelia to New Iberia. She also read that Hwy 182 will be shut down also.
On iPhone and suck at interweb searching. If anybody can post a link that'd be great.

At the Morgan City meeting last week they told us that they would keep water off of the highway from Morgan City to Lafayette. They told us (Morgan City) that this would be our evacuation route. Not sure from Houma to Morgan City though. It was also said that water may reach the highway after you cross the Calumet bridge. If so, they would redirect traffic to old Hwy 182.
