One year when I was in high school, we packed up the day the school year ended and didn’t return home for the entire summer. We traveled all across the country and got back just in time for the new school year to begin. We have a lifetime of memories just from that trip.

This is just fantastic. What an amazing experience for you, your brother, and your father.

Your father sounds like a great man who, although his time was cut short, lived a full life and left a wonderful legacy behind for you and everyone that knew him. My hope for you is that you take the beautiful experiences that your father gave you and carry those with you as you make your own fantastic way in life. I feel that your father would want you to do so. Thank you for sharing a little of him with us.

May God bless the soul of your father and may God bless you and your family.

The greatest impact a person can leave on this Earth is supporting others. It sounds like your father positively impacted his employees, his friends, even posters on this board, and most importantly his kids. I lost my father at a young age, and it always helps me to think of the lives he impacted during his short time here.

Also, if it helps you talk about him, keep doing it. Do whatever helps you get through times like these.

Way to young , thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Ashman, my Dad passed away prior to my 20th birthday to cancer and even today some 25+ years later I know he's still with me and guiding down the path of life. The pain and the feeling of loss is tremendous right now I know but remember the greats times you shared and know he'll always be there with you in spirit to get you through the rough patches.

As a 46 year old with two sons, your post about your dad was powerful. I can only hope that my sons would write something similar about me some day.

Thanks for sharing and I wish you and your family peace and strength through this difficult time.

My condolences. Praying for peace and healing for you and your family. Your father shared a lot of creativity here that gave many of us some good laughs. Sounds like he shared a lot more with you and those around him.

Last post for Ashman

I never interacted with your father on here as I have no talent in the photoshopping area. However, I came to the Fark Board daily looking specifically for his work. I laughed constantly at his work and often forwarded to friends. He will be greatly missed on here. I will have a cold beer in his honor tonight.

Reading how he lived his life, raised his kids, and provided for his employees brings a tear to my eye and a smile to my face. Please always share stories of your father with others. I know it will brighten their day and make them want to live life to the fullest.

R.I.P. Ashman and God bless your family

I'm also really appreciative of that description. We just go on our respective/favorite boards and no one really knows each other so it's great to hear the human side of Ash.

My condolences to you, and as many have said already...your father's humor, even at his own team no less, was appreciated by all. I lost my dad to cancer 8 years ago. He fought a six month death sentence for 5 years. A lot of suffering took place in that time, but I see him in the Dream on rare occasions and he's always smiling, joking around. May you see your father again, and God Bless.

Sorry about you your loss. Ashman was a funny guy, who not only made me laugh, but even helped make a few of my crazy ideas come to life. I was very happy when I found out he was a Bama fan, since we only have a few great farkers on here.

I know your pain. I list my mom almost 5 years ago, and it still hurts to this day. But was fortunate enough to have both parents in my life. I knew he seemed like a good guy. But after your post, it's nice to know he really was a great human being.
