Can't imagine WHY there was so much backlash about this...
To quote Rodog (poster on another board):

That is one terrible trophy. I'm sure the guys on the team from the hood can relate to the meaning of that trophy....

The fans from PSU and MSU all breathed a collective sigh when they saw that Iowa Corn trophy. They thought ahhh at least we don't have the worst trophy anymore.
At the press conference yesterday with Iowa Corn (sponsor) and the respective U's representatives - they said ... we hear you...we'll develop an interim trophy and will solicit input from the fans.
