This guy was a bruiser at State in college. Do you think he is worth picking up and starting instead of CJ2K? All my other backs are on a bye. Ballard has a good matchup this week so I'm thinking he may surprise some people. Any thoughts?

He may get you 50+ yards and a touchdown.... doubt he goes off way Andre Brown did though

I have to roll with Ballard. I am incredibly thin at RB.

Ballard could potentially be my flex. It would be either him or Lloyd, Austin or S Johnson in the flex.

I am actually starting him over CJ bc I am pretty sure he will get less than 40 yds against Pitt.

Would anyone start Ballard @ NYJ over Bradshaw @ SF?

Or am I over thinking it?

I never understand why anyone would start a known commodity over a guy who is unknown.

Unless you absolutely have to start Ballard (if your team is that shitty, you are probably fricked anyway) I'd start a guy like Bradshaw or CJ2k over him. Let Ballard play a week if you can afford to.

<------------ This Guy

Starting Ballard because Forte is on bye and Benson got hurt, so for this week I'm desperate for a RB. He could end up doing well though, so at least I have a little hope.

If he could not start over Donald fricking Brown, then why he would be good?

I doubt he will breakout this game, but he has a really good matchup this week.

50 yds and a TD wouldn't shock me

I would be thrilled with 50 yards and a TD. I need him to do well enough to get another start. Then my RBs are finished with their byes.

This is more than I honestly expect out of him. I'm thinking he may get 60-70yds and probably no TD. But it would be amazing if he could get a TD then I might actually have a shot this week despite all of my players on bye.

I hope he falls on his face, because I just snagged Brown out of FA.

Ballard is averaging a robust 2 ypc.

The most carries and yards Brown has in a game is 18 and 84, for a 3.98 ypc for the year. 3 catches on the YEAR.

I know everyone wants to think they have the hot new thing, but let's be realistic.

not a good matchup for them. they play the Jets, right?

they have a good run D. Despite arian foster running on them. Outside of a 46yard run he was shut down fairly well.

the Colts are the kind of team they will shut down on the ground.

You're not being realistic. You can't judge a running back off of a carry here and a carry there. He may not be the new best thing, but he could be.

Jets statistically have the worst run D in the NFL after the Saints.

They are 25th in points given up to fantasy RBs.

I have Ballard and Bradshaw. I'm going with Ballard. I may have too much respect for the 49ers run defense but they are good.

I have Alex Green too but I'm not 100% convinced he won't split carries with Starks this week.
