I think Greinke is really valuable cause he had the top k/9 last year and the number 8 k/9 so far this year. Peavy simply will not come close to that unless it is 2007.
I am not saying it is not a fair offer either. I really like Kelly Johnson as well. I backed you when you pimped him and Aaron Hill preseason. I just did not think the price was right.

1 stat big dog. Peavy has more QS and better ERA and WHIP. Greinke simply won't touch those.

Peavy has one more QS. I would not really consider it too significant at this time. I would not be surprised if their ERAs finished very close, but I would assume Peavy would keep the better WHIP.
FWIW, Greinke is not untradable to me, no one is (but Victorino and JJ would be hard for me to move). I dealt him in the Votto league.

Just when I think we are done talking about it... so you would've gotten a similar SP and added a top 40 hitter?
No wonder you're nestled into 2nd to last place. K/9 is nice... but it's worth the same as WHIP

I think Greinke will be superior in 3/4 of the pitching cats from here on out and they will be pretty close in WHIP in their remaining 22 starts (if they remain healthy).
I was factoring in Peavy's current advantage in the QS, ERA, and WHIP into the equation. Remember, if they both finish with the exact same stats, then Greinke had the superior last 22 starts.
