He's missed a few times this year and he's not scoring more than 5 in almost every game. Time to drop him for a new kicker?

Dont know why people joke about importance of kickers

On a championship roster last year, Matt Bryant averaged like the 4th most points on my team

How many points did he average v your average kicker? Prob not many more. Kicker rarely determines who wins each week IMO. espeically in PPR.

I'm in 3 leagues with a kicker. Counting all 15 games one had been decided by less than 5 points. And 2 more have been decided by less than 10. So out of 15 games 3 were within 10 points. In PPR games just usually don't end up close enough conistently to worry about a position like kicker. Kickers Should be removed from modern day fantasy football.

It is never too early to give up on a kicker.

Every point is important weekly and for end of season. The Last two years I got the last spot in the playoffs by less than 1 point for total points for the year.

Sounds like a good reason for getting rid of kickers and adding a flex.

Exactly. I've been thinking the same for a while.

I know a lot of people feel that way, I happen to like the kicker being a part of fantasy. Even if you make it a second flex spot, you're still gonna have the same question about moving on from an underperforming player.

I only have one flex player, Hyde that has outscored my kicker. That is if you remove Jordy and Hunt who are obvious starts.

That's just my opinion though.

The way I see it is drafting that extra flex takes a little skill, maybe some player eval skills. Whereas picking a kicker is like throwing dart at a dartboard while blindfolded.

I can understand that. I'm of the belief that there's skill in drafting a kicker too. A kicker on a high scoring offense is the best obviously. This year I took Gostkowski a couple rounds early and used my last 2 picks on Carson and Austin Hooper. That is kind of how I try to do It every year. Get a kicker a round or 2 early and then go for a sleeper in the last round. In years I didn't do that I ended up cutting the last position player for a WW pickup anyways.

I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Fantasy though.
