but it's completely random

so is a lot of fantasy football, especially with how the points are based on arbitrary numbers

people do better than expected (alex smith), worse than expected (phillip rivers), get hurt (britt, charles), etc

i'd rather scrap kickers than anything else, though

i don't care if kickers are eliminated, but they are still a position and to keep the simplistic scoring system is stupid when every other position has scoring based on a sliding scale

to assume a 50 yard FG and a 18 yard FG are equal difficulty is just absurd

The difference being a 50 yard FG and an 18 yard FG are both worth the same. A 50 yard rushing play and an 18 yard rushing play aren't.

Of course things like that will happen, but at least we can make resonable predictions on skill position players. There is nothing you can do about injuries. What kind of reasonable predictions can we make on kicker FG yardage? I think the stat before the season I heard was the #1 kicker for the season on average scores 2 points a game more than the #32 kicker in standard scoring. Meaning they are all the same. Lets not start making these guys more important. I don't want David Akers making 3 50 yarders and a 40 yarder in a game and getting 19 points for it. Where Peterson could run for 190 yards with no TD's and get the same result. That is dumb

kickers are so dependent on outside variables to even get the chance to kick FGs, i would vote to eliminate the position

exactly, either eliminate them or keep the scoring the same. Don't give them more points

Is anyone going to draft a kicker based on his long distance oppourtunities?

Alot, of Kicker hate going around. Although, there is an increase in field goals this year. Can we change our flex to include a kicker?

if we give them points for yardage then yes we should. They might be the highest scorers

I drafted Elam a ton back when he played for Denver, but that league had 10 points for 50 yard FGs, 5 points for 40-49, and 3 points for < 40.

In the example above, Akers would have scored 35.

I would guess the average field goal is probably about 35-40 yards in distance. That is really not too different than our current scoring.

Think McFadden will play this weekend? I could really use another week of Bush.

i think even when mcfadden comes back they may split the carries, A)to keep McFadden healthy and B)cause bush has played so well.

mcfadden value= down, imo

I'll take that. I'd rather have that split back field than the Felix side of a Felix/DeMarco share.
