as an owner of cc last year, i will back up the claim that he is not a top tier pitcher in our format

200Ks and sub 3.50 ERA is top tier, at least in my eyes

No doubt. They are totally different entities.

I'm convinced his arm will fall off as early as this year, his ERA isn't where the other sure-fire studs are.

yeah he has a lot of IP, but he keeps churning

3.37 in the AL east is pretty fricking good

at least unlike Vazquez, he has churned out great numbers consistently .

He's come around lately, against bag-of-arse pitching. Still, he has too much to learn to come in and be a super-effective leadoff man. I honestly think he is going to struggle this season. Too many strikeouts and not enough walks from a leadoff man.

I like the way he plays though. He just needs some time to adjust.

I'm not denying that. It's not my fault that's the division he pitches in though. That's not going to change, thus it needs to be taken into account.

And yes, he's waaay more consistent that Vazquez in terms of ERA. Vazquez has been super consistent with a solid K rate though.

Ill still take at least ten pitchers over him in a keeper league, which is more than most experts would.

not a huge fan of Soriano

I don't let my Cubtardness affect my drafting, but where I snagged him was great value.

Soriano, Rivera, & Matsui are definately not keepers, but will post good numbers if healthy. ( all project for 25+ HR)

By intention. Closers and saves are, for the most part, unpredictbable from year to year. Ill take my chances working the waiver wire.

But he's also listed in your starting lineup in the utility position. I just think he's garbage. Reimold or even Polanco are better options.

Oh, CBS did that...I just drafted him as a reserve, in which case he's a pretty damn solid #2 catcher.

I envision Reimold, Gordon, Atkins, eventually Wallace picking up those U spots.

this is what all the fantasy shite told me, and i missed the big run on closers, so i said frick it

i do think the fantasy shite i read didn't account for a league as deep as this one though, which i couldn't adjust for

honestly i was going to get another solid SP during the infamous "sandwich picks" of manram and jeter

i should have picked vasquez when i had the shot

having sandwich picks for a pure novice wasn't the best thing

and i have a bunch of old guys, but most should be around for at least 1 more year

My philosophy in TDBL as well. If I end up being a contender this year, I will make a trade or two to get help at this position.

You want Lincecum? He and Halladay would be beast mode on your team.

This was my first real deep league where mostly everyone knew their shite. I definately hurt myself letting players in my queue slide thinking they'd make it back around.
9/10 they didn't.

I passed on John Rauch 3 late rounds knowing I needed to take him.

I'm not gonna stress about saves. I could sneakily win a few weeks if I get lucky.

And once Mo-Rivera dies this year, Joba will take over and i'm set.

I'm just chalking it up to "it was late as frick and he was tired".

I think my offense can hang with anyone's and has potential to get alot better, although I agree that there are a few injury concerns.

Still appreciate him doing that.

HR/OPS/RBI will be my weakness this year. Depending on what some of my pitchers do, I may end up having to unload one for a solid power bat in the OF.
