FWIW Redd....I went for Stubbs at that point more for his SB potential than anything.
I also have Jose Bautista and Andruw Jones as potential OF that could hit 20 HRs.

Yeah. Remember that I didn't look at when guys were picked. I just viewed the finished product. Every team has weaknesses. Yours is in the OF IMO.

I got really excited when I began to look at this offense. Then I saw the outfield. Ouch. Brett Gardner as a starter? I know he is a steal machine, but frick. I love Kung-Fu Panda, and Cabrera is always nice to have.
My OF is Crawford, Cuddyer, Swisher/Fowler/Snider/Pronk/Jones also U's. Gardner was a late pick and is in the starting lineup now because he has a game on opening day. My starting bats are:
C - Soto
1B - Cabrera
2B - Phillips
3B - Sandoval
SS - Drew
OF - Crawford
OF - Cuddyer
OF - Swisher
U - Fowler
U - Snider
U - Jones/Hafner or whoever really - it's the end of the draft at this point.
And my staff is solid with 3 top SPs and 3 closers - one stud and 2 solids.
I think Soto and Drew rebound and Swish and Cuddyer can give me 30HRs in the OF. I can't predict where I'll finish but second to last as LE has it is absurd. But we shall see.

Yeah I don't think you are second to last bad. Thanks for clarifying the Gardner deal. Had me worried. Swisher and cuddyer need to come through for you.

Will I like your team...not sure why others don't. Like les said though, teams are pretty even because pretty much everyone knew their stuff.
I like my staff more than others do.
Timmy
Shields
Danks
That is a pretty solid 3, and a healthy dice k could make for a really strong 4.
I think my weakness is going to be saves. There's franklin and then ___. Other than that, it's a well rounded squad.

I looked at all the teams this morning, 5-6 will have trouble with saves. So I think Lidge and Dotel will win me a few weeks.
I like my starting staff. Like Earl mentioned, 6 solid starters that all have high strike-out potential.
Half my pitchers have that medical cross by their name right now, need to get healthy and fast.

I don't dislike wills team. I like it even more without Gardner starting in the of.

Verlander
Oswalt
Jurrjens
Latos
Santana
2 solid Closers in Street and Bailey. Bard is a Closer in waiting and will have a ridiculous k/9.
And 4 question mark young arms that any one of them could surprise in Gio, Hocehvar, Braden, Richard.

All value picks, IMO. I wasn't targeting pitchers early, so I was glad how it turned out.
Rd. Pitcher
5th--jimenez
6th--hamels
8th--Webb (steal)
10--Scherzer
12--Davis
16--Romero
18--Joba

I think he takes the next step this year. I really think Peavy is going to have a positive impact on him.
He's not an ace or anything, but he's already solid and he's going to get better. He's a more than solid #3 pitcher in a 14 team league.
Posted on 3/24/10 at 10:27 am to rondo
Those are four good young arms to take a chance on rondo. If two can be solid all year for you, you'll be in good shape.

I was saying the same - I don't think much separates the majority of the teams - it seems most had a strategy that gave them a particular strength while sacrificing at other spots. I think I'm fairly balanced, but for the first time, ever, for me, I drafted some CLs.
11 days to Opening Day - can't wait.

I probably will only regularly start Verlander, Oswalt, and Jurrjens. At least until Latos shows me he's good to go.
Maybe start Richard when he pitches against the reds at petco.
Spot start Santana against weaker teams.
