Nothing that has been posted invalidates my statement that a WR with 6 receptions is more involved than a WR with 1. Particularly something about RBs scoring different types of TDs.

Nah my reading comprehension is fine. You’re talking about RBs in the running and passing game without giving specific stats.

I’m talking about receptions only for WRs and who’s more involved. Again, nothing posted disproves that a WR with 1 reception is more involved than a WR with 6.

Anyone with common sense agrees with that statement. Well, anyone wit common sense who’s not butthurt by PPR scoring.

No, PPR simply more accurately represents an NFL offenses today. Guys with the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield are key cogs to pretty much every NFL offense in the league. If you don’t have that ability, you’re value and appeal to teams is going to diminish, just like in PPR.

I also love the people who complain about negative receptions, which is a scenario that hardly ever has any effect on a game whatsoever because it’s such a niche scenario that is talking about at worst a point difference of frickin 1 from the alternative

I turned your logic of a "WR"
6 for 62 and a TD -- 18.2 pts
1 for 62 and a TD -- 13.2 pts

into a "RB"
6 for 62 and a TD (rushing alone) -- 12.2 pts
1 for 62 and a TD (receiving alone) -- 13.2 pts

How is the RB with 6 for 62 and a TD any less involved than the WR for 6 for 62 and a TD? You said "being involved matters IMO", yet the RB who only catches it for 1x for 62 and a score ends up with more fantasy points than RB who runs it 6x for 62 and score.

FYI, I am not butthurt by PPR by the way. Just playing devil's advocate

What if a I told you of a receiver gets a point for a -2 yard catch a run should get a pint for a -2 yard carry. PPR is for pussies.

Well this is a take.

Maybe, just..............PPR is a response to the fact that year in, year out, there are maybe half a dozen truly elite RB's, but 2 to 3 times that number of receivers.

Maybe standard scoring is just for old fogies who still think a power run game is the way to go.

More valuable based on what? Catching the ball is not inherently good or bad. The yards gained or points scored is all that matters.

A 1 point difference is a lot. Rushing for ten yards is much more difficult than catching a pass. It’s dumb. There’s no way they should be worth the same amount.

Don’t play in PPR leagues then. Problem solved.

Are you serious here? 6 catches could mean 6 3rd down conversions 6 balls that made for more manageable downs, 6 balls that put you in scoring range. One long reception helps one drive.

There are ample reasons why the multi-catch game is better than a one catch game.

ETA: One last thing.

Tell that to OJ Simpson.

Full point is also a bit much, I prefer half point

.5 is great

Thread misses the point. PPR was crated for people with more than 5 friends. If you play in an 8 or 10 team league no PPR makes sense. For 12 and up, having PPR just opens the game up for more teams. More players become usable and it makes for a more fun and competitive league.

We have .5 PPR (10 catches 5 pts)
and have .25 per carry (20 carries 5 pts)

We also go negative for kickers.
-2 pts for missed xp
-1.5 for missed FG 30yrds or less
-1 for missed 30-40yrd

Do you honestly believe if a RB catches a screen pass and gets tackled for 0 yards he should get a point for that? That’s beyond stupid

The complaint is that people who like standard get screwed bc most people would prefer to play in PPR leagues. Ppr leagues are dumb imo.
