well frick

The reinstatement of players such as Gordon, Welker and Scandrick would be based on the fact that none of those players would have been suspended under the new policy. There was not a major hurdle, sources said.

It is unclear whether the NFLPA will continue negotiations or table them for the year. It is possible the union could set a deadline by next Tuesday to reach agreement, a source said

What does that mean? Like table a vote until they get back from getting some pizza?

Seems to me the owners low-balled the players and the NFLPA said frick off

I would think that if they were going to get some pizza, they wouldn't be announcing that they were going to table the vote. IMO, nothing gets solved until the off season.

And then next Tuesday they will push it back again leaving us just enough hope to want to hang on. Sorry for the negativity, but this is getting frustrating.

I'm not sure what that Mort Tweet is about. But this article looks the most legit.

LINK

quote:

Finally, a proposal on a new drug policy arrived from the NFL. The NFLPA board of player representatives, however, decided not to vote on it.

quote:

“There was no vote tonight,” NFLPA spokesman George Atallah told PFT via text message. “There are still unresolved issues. We will continue to work toward a comprehensive agreement on the drug policies.”

quote:

The NFLPA convened a conference call of the 32 player representatives in order to vote on the league’s proposal. The matter wasn’t put to a vote, which indicates that union leadership did not believe the proposal was strong enough to merit consideration by the full body of representatives.

quote:

Negotiations presumably will continue. It’s unclear when or if a new agreement will be reached.

Basically, we need the players to eventually say yes

quote:

The NFLPA was expecting to take a vote that would have revised policy and allowed for the immediate reinstatement of almost 20 players currently under suspension, including star receivers Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns and Wes Welker of the Denver Broncos, as well as cornerback Orlando Scandrick of the Dallas Cowboys, sources said.

I realize more news will come out in the next couple of days, but how long until Gordon is holding up a roster spot? I'll hold him through the weekend if this shite continues, but I'm not going to deny myself a bench spot for a month if it keeps being like "we'll do it later"

No one you roster over him will ever crack your starting lineup anyway

I don't know I stole Keenan Allen on a whim about week 3 last year

I didn't really have a target I was crazy about this week anyway so I'll hold him for a while but eventually he's taking up space. I'm not comfortable dropping anyone else on my bench right now.

Rand Getlin twitter seems to be the one putting out the info the fastest. He says that the players didn't get the proposal till late today. Fingers crossed for an early start tomorrow.

I picked up Keenan Allen, Stacy, and Ellington last year

There are good pickups to be made on the WW
