I actually would have been ok every week week without Gordon. Solid backup options with Martavis/finally lone back Stewart(!). The rest of my team is good enough that Gordon is my boom/bust guy.
And I "wasted" my whole season carrying him on my bench
he's a WR2 with potential to be an elite WR1.

I'm actually laughing at oleyeller. Dude shite on himself with the hardline "no chance he'll play this season" and "y'all are fricking idiots for rostering this guy" nonsense. He's just trying to regain some dignity.

Congrats on rostering someone all season for 3 points in the playoffs
and boom, we have talked in other thread last week about gordon. i said i was wrong about him playing. Its simple as that! This is a mesg board, not life or death..im just teasing on here and have been since day one. If any of you take what i say on a fantasy football serious then i am sorry. Its all in good fun. Fantasy is a crap shoot for the most part, and all it takes is one bad week from one player to cost you your season once its playoff time. In this whole thread it was a josh gordon suck fest and i was on the other side of the fence and have been going back and forth with you guys about 12 weeks now on this. When he came back yall gave me hell, and when he put up 3 points i did the same. Dont take it to heart, its all im fun.

Someone in my league rostered Peyton Manning all year only to get 2 points from him yesterday.

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon had his reps limited in Week 14 against the Indianapolis Colts. Head coach Mike Pettine said Sunday, Dec. 7, that the staff felt he was getting too many reps, so they took him out on third downs.
take out our best playmaker on crucial downs.....makes sense.....

FTR I have Gordon in both my leagues and will be playing next week in both of them.

"I would've f****** hit him" or "god I f****** hate him"
And apparently the reason Manziel was the backup was because he went to the Cavs game instead of studying on his day OFF.
Pettine has been a miracle worker in CLE, but he is going to screw them too.

Manziel should be the starter from here on out, right?
Posted on 12/8/14 at 10:51 am to boom roasted
I honestly don't know. Would not be surprised if their 3rd string popped out of nowhere. He said West cost them the game last week, and basically referred to a benching. Guess what? He was the starter this week!

Manziel didn't look bad in his limited snaps last week. He has a stronger arm than I realized.
Can't be worse than Hoyer.
Can't be worse than Hoyer.

@adamlevitan: Josh Gordon snap count actually not egregious at all. Per PFF, played on 54-of-68 (79.4%) against IND. Was in on 76.7% Wk 13, 69.2% Wk 12.

As a colts fan i watched the whole game. JG main problem lookes to be that hoyer has regressed. He doesnt look like hoyer from last year, and im not sure manzeil will be the answer either. On one hand i think his broken plays may open up JG downfield for big plays, on the other i think manziel trying to do too much will be worse for JG. But at the time you would think the coach would give manzeil a shot because rather its in his head that manziel is sitting on the sideline waiting or whatever it may be... hoyer isnt getting it done for cleveland. And with the ravens and steelers both winning yest, the browns should be getting desperate for some kind of spark.

exactly, If Hoyer weren't turning the ball over you could say that Manziel could be worse (due to potential TOs); you're already getting that with Hoyer anyway but at least Manziel has upside.

Johnny Football time?
Straight from Rotoworld:
A source "connected to the Browns' quarterback situation" estimated to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora that there's a "99 percent chance" Johnny Manziel starts in Week 15 against the Bengals.
"Maybe even 99.5 percent," La Canfora added. If Browns coach Mike Pettine watched the Week 14 tape, there won't be any doubt. Brian Hoyer left at least 150 passing yards and two touchdowns on the field against the Colts, missing wide open receivers, and was the primary reason Cleveland blew a comfortable lead in its 25-24 defeat. Hoyer has a 1:8 TD-to-INT ratio over his last four games. He's been the NFL's worst quarterback during that span.

I wonder if Pettine will poll the locker room again to see who they want to start.

I said it earlier that I thought Josh Gordon looked out of shape. According to the head couch he's in great shape. Take it for what it's worth:
quote:Most of the blame is being put on Hoyer:
After that game, Browns' head coach Mike Pettine told reporters the receiver kept himself in "excellent shape" during his time away from the team and Gordon told reporters that he had "been working out nonstop every day" during his absence.
quote:LINK
Hoyer was completely ineffective against a Colts' defense that was missing their top cornerback and allowed two wide open receivers deep who Hoyer overthrew. If this is a fair competition at quarterback, you have to make the switch next week -- any mental knowledge that Hoyer might have over QB Johnny Manziel isn't enough to keep the rookie quarterback down any longer.

Shape and football (or any sport for that matter) shape are two different things.
He showed up ripped as hell and was probably running, but that's not football shape.
He's only played three games. The way I look at is his first three games were like the preseason. Now this will be his fourth game back, thus we will get blessed with a 40-point performance
Posted on 12/8/14 at 5:13 pm to jimithing11
Maybe, but after two preseason games it's time to get the ball rolling, and he's played in three real games. Either he's good to go, or we have some problems. Coach seems confident. We'll see.

I am actually hoping for Manziel to come in, play like shite and the Browns to be down like 30-0 at halftime to pave the way for GGT (Gordon Garbage Time)
