But he's supposed to be the Korean Joey Votto.

Well he is 0-15 when putting the ball in play. Gotta figure BABIP will eventually right itself. He doesn't have a walk yet either which is supposed to be his strength, so wondering if nerves or something are causing him to be more aggressive thus far in Spring.

Edit: Ron's Korean is already hitting grand slams. Maybe I drafted the wrong one?

Lester's outlook took a significant bump. Great move. That 1-2-3 punch looks stout. CQQ now has Scherzer and nothing else. Value wise, it's pretty even. Logically speaking, it doesn't make much sense to me.

+1

Like the moves old Les has been making this offseason. Adding Hamels & Cueto is pretty huge for him.

Fact.

frick that trade.

ETA: He will be weak at SS, but Kang was probably gonna lose eligibility there after this season anyway.

Think Mercer will hold the fort all year?

frick, I went to bed halfway regretting that trade and you guys aren't helping.

My lineup was just looking weak.

Once AJ Reed comes up, I'll have

Vogt
Reed
Forsythe
Murphy
Kang
Choo
Cutch
Fowler

I need Joe Ross to keep improving and counting on Manaea coming up soon. Maybe Latos or Cain will halfway bounce back.

I thought it was the weakest lineup in the league pre-trade, if that helps

Well, outside of the two teams filled with just young players is what I mean

Hadn't even thought of this damnit

As long as he starts 10 games a year at SS, he stays eligible for the following season, right?

If your lineup is weak it isn't a bad trade. Cueto is a good win-now guy, but he's approaching (or already there) the back half of his production curve. Even though he has SS eligibility for a year, Kang is still somewhat undervalued with some risk. A year from now you could have an emerging power bat and Cueto will start showing signs of age. Plus I always like to trade an arm for a bat for obvious reasons. In context the trade is good from both sides. You just may not obverse return for a year or two.

Espinosa looks to get first nod for the Nats. Ive always liked him for some reason. I know he wont be great but if he can hold off Turner he'll be fine for what i need in this league

also i have a few extra starters now, Jesse Hahn, Robbie Ray, Matt Moore that i wouldnt be against trading. Tho i looked last night, there are only like 3 teams with an extra SS(Barry, holla if you need a SP).

Cueto is only a year older than Kang

He just made 30, and is going to love pitching in that park & in the NL again. If i can get 3 good years out of that 6 year deal he just signed, thats an eternity

i mean obviously Turner will be up at some point, but if Esp plays well enough he is going to stick for a few months

I think Kang regresses some, im not totally sold on him, which is why i wanted to deal him.
