I inquired about a different player because Belt wasn't the player I wanted, just the player I needed.

i obviously really want to make the playoffs this year and hopefully more.

How I feel about Rhys...ceiling...90/35/90. .280/.345/.500

Anyone know how to get around MLB.TV's blackouts?

Sucks you can't watch Houston or Texas

If you have DirecTV you can watch the Rangers channel with just about every package (676). There's also a way to use a proxy I believe to bypass the restriction but i'm not sure how. Ask Redd.

ETA: Apparently use of a VPN will do the trick. Google it.

Do we think Belt > Shaw or Napoli?

Genuinely curious, trying to gauge some value here

Belt over Napoli by a long shot.

Especially considering his performance to this point with being 35 on a one year deal.

He'd have to hit like Reynolds to gauge any interests and that return was a 34 year old SP who throws 86 mph.

Shaw I've wanted to ask about, but I feel like I know what I'm getting more in Belt than Shaw.

Makes sense. Confirms our stance of Belt being one of the most overrated fantasy guys around. What's he, already 30 and hits like 15 bombs/yr.

You got a 1st too, so balances the deal overall.

Just curios on value here with some of our OTB guys.

Belt is a guy that just kinda holds over your average stats, doesn't hurt you or really help you In the big picture but in a large league like this that has some value

Nah, LE is right. He doesn't blow he's just boring as frick.

And expecting 70/15/70 with a .350+ OBP is useful in this league.

It'll be a terrible deal if me, Earl ,and MWG are right about Hoskins, but it's what I need right now.

Consider there are teams starting joe mauer, kennys vargas, Danny Valencia, and taylor motter at 1B

When I saw the trade email I was thinking Belt was a steal at that price, then I looked at his numbers and was instantly lukewarm about him. He might still develop some mid career 25 HR power though. He wouldn't be the first.

he has 25 HR power, he just plays in the strongest pitcher's park in MLB

Over the past three years, he has 13 homers at home and 34 on the road

That was a good pickup Ron. I wanted him but didn't have the need or room.
