Context is the most important thing when asking for advice
League size
Scoring
rosters
W/L
Things like that.
The worst questions are "should I pick up so and so?"
Or should I trade for so and so?
Without giving info on who is on your team already. Common sense goes a long way

Precisely.
W/L is a good one I didn't think of before.

I don't have a problem with editing my stickied thread to include this. Thread is pointless with league threads not being anchored

You'd have to edit the title as well.
If you're fine to do that, I'm good with it. I requested a sticky from the admins for this thread, but I don't care if my thread is stickied or you add it to yours. I'm not doing this to get any fake internet points credit.

Let's see if you get yours or not.

Might help if you requested a sticky as well.

Nice. Hopefully this helps with the board confusion and clutter.

Just got to have to regulars ignore all threads that don't follow protocol. ONly way change is going to happen
I just wish people were more descriptive in their subjects.
I'm not clicking on a thread that has the subject "trade advice" or "pick 2" or "need help deciding"
At the very least, put the players in question in the subject. You're bound to get more responses.
When I'm looking at this board, when a subject has a player that I want info on in the subject, I'm clicking that thread and at least seeing what people have to say and possibly offering my opinion on the player if I think it's helpful.

Agree 100%. I'm much more likely to click on a thread if they at least list what they are asking (trade, sit/start, WW, etc.) and the players involved.
If the subject only says "Please help", at least half the time I ignore it.

Or we need a fantasy board equivalent of : casty : that posts the guidelines.
Something like :FBG:

I don't think W/L is that relevant to advice on who to start/sit. Maybe it's a little more relevant to making a trade, but my record shouldn't make any difference as to who to start.
Just my thoughts. Otherwise, I agree with everything that's been said so far.

Some people factor it in more than others. Your W/L record combined with your roster can indicate how competitive your league is. I personally don't factor in W/L very much either, but I know Lester and a few others do.
Example, someone posts a question about a trade in a keeper league where they are trading away Bell for a 1st round pick next year. If they are 11-1, then they probably shouldn't make the trade and go for the win this year. If they are 1-11, then they should probably make the trade and build for next year.

Please edit the OP to include details of the trade in the title of the thread
