Interesting trade Lester. I thought about making a play for Hanley - he can't be as bad as he's been the last 2 seasons - but I felt there was too much uncertainty. His play has been bad now for 2 seasons (relative to his former play) and he seems to have a terrible attitude. I think the best hope is he gets traded to a contender.

i wanted to clear up my keeper situation, and this allowed me to. I was going to have to prob drop either Anibal or Hardy, even though they are keepable guys.
thats why i wasnt hesitant to throw hardy in. Basically a 2 for 1 in my eyes because i couldnt keep all 3.
I'll take 2010 Hanley, even if it was a 'down' year. I dont think he can be as bad as last year. HAd he played a full season he would have had respectable numbers, surpassing his 2010 power #'s. As for his attitude, im hoping Ozzie bonds with him.
i get a SS in return who steals bases, so i wasnt really hung up on dealing Stubbs or Hardy, who otherwise would have left holes in those categories.

I think it was good for both.
Gives Redd 3 solid guys, too.

I agree, he needed some stability

I'm not in love with the guys I got, but I am kinda relieved to get rid of Hanley. My team was dominating when I traded for him two seasons ago. Ever since then, my team has blown goats. Maybe this is the beginning of the turnaround.
Who knows. If I don't put a winner out there, it wont be because I didnt try.

Sanchez and Stubbs have upside, but Hardy is a marginal player and probably hit the most HRs he will ever hit last year. He's keepable only because of scarcity at his position.
I agree, though, that it was a pretty balanced trade...unless Hanley returns to form. But I can understand being frustrated with him and just wanting to GTFO.

the 3 seasons Hardy has reached 500 ABs, he's hit 24, 26, and 30 HRs
hardly marginal

You're spinning...you know the stats tell a different story.

Trading Hanley hasn't stopped the itch.
Let's make some deals today, people!

You would inquire about my #1 source for steals and my #1 source for HRs.
Nobody is untouchable, but I don't see a good match from your squad.
I'm looking to possibly land upgrades at 1B, OF, and SP, and will throw in high draft picks if it makes the deal work. The following players are super available:
1B Billy Butler (would need a 1B in return)
3B Kevin Youkilis (would need a 3B in return)
OF Drew Stubbs
OF Carlos Beltran
OF Colby Rasmus
1B/OF Nick Swisher
SP Ubaldo Jimenez (would need SP in return)
SP Anibow Sanchez (would need SP in return)

tell me what they say in your eyes.
if Hardy stays healthy, he's productive. thats what they tell me. not sure how that is a spin.

We need to quit posturing and put you in a Konkerko or Lind. You can't keep Butler, I won't let you. This is the year that dude doesn't get kept.
