Joe Mauer led all catcher in AB's with 510.

This placed him 108th in MLB, right between jonny gomes and casey blake.

On an AL team, sure. They can play DH.
Guys like V-Mart, Mauer, and now even Napoli are worth holding on to because they will get everyday ABs.

In the NL, not so much.

Yes - everyone knows buying a fungible good at the grocery store is exactly like acquiring something unique as a basketball player - fricking exactly the same.

I hope this nonsense isn't somehow based off the word fungible.

I've been waiting for some in-depth NOBian factoids to back this bullshite up.

Like does Favors have some volatile freethrow release or something?

Look, I will concede this argument.

You have shown prowess in making keepers out of Forwards that play for the Nets.

Sure it does. Catchers don't get as many ABs per week as position players, making their projected OPS less valuable.

if John Buck and Soto are both Catchers, and both get 20ABs a week, all things equal, how is that not a significant gap in OPS?

No, it makes no sense. Not sure exactly what is going through your head at this point. Pretty black and white here.

Who ranked 41st at their position in AB. So the Best catcher with the most AB's has the same amount as the 41st OF in MLB. Do i need to break it down into a pop up book for you?
