except SP brought in 3 veteran RBs to compete for Ingrams role while he's out and also drafted another

and said this

quote:

But the four-game suspension Mark Ingram was handed for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs does not mean Alvin Kamara will automatically take on the work of both men.

Not by a long shot.

"The mistake would be that Alvin gets 15 more carries," Saints coach Sean Payton said on Saturday at the team's rookie minicamp. "That's not the direction we would expect to go."

quote:

Kamara will have a better season this year

320.4 points in 1 PPR league last year. I'll take the under, whoever wants to bet the over LMK

no one is betting, its all opinion. but even if he manages less fantasy pts in ppr, if he stays healthy he will be among the top backs.

Whoever makes the team will be there to alleviate pressure from Kamara in Ingram’s abscence. Doesn’t really matter who SP goes with

West mayb, verene is a 3rd down back (kamaras role) but kamara doesnt need to be a workhorse anyway. i do expect sean p to try and get the ball in his hands more this year.

Oh boy

90.9% of his carries came on 1st and 2nd down. 7.4% on 3rd down

75% of his receptions came on 1st and 2nd down. 24% on 3rd down

Watch what now yelly, take the rest of the night off

AP is a physical freak, so I'd consider him the outlier.

It's pretty much established that RBs come off ACLs with lower numbers all-around.

ETA: I'll add Jamal Charles as the only other RB I can think of who performed at a similar level the year after.

Kamara will be closer to 300 touches than 200 if he stays healthy

He’s good for 65-70 catches. He’d only need 130 carries to hit that, lol that’s nothing

The law of diminishing returns could come into play. Does Kamara still retain the explosiveness with that many more touches. Obviously SP thinks he does not.

Don’t even know what that means can you explain

Todd Gurley is an ACL guy
Jamal Charles ran for 1500 yards off an ACL
Dion Lewis had a career year last year

There’s a bunch at other positions. It’s no longer a career ender. Age matters too. It’s hard to correlate a drop in production when the RB is already at the end of their career (Arian Foster, deuce, etc)

The more he puts in, the less he gets back with each additional attempt.

Look I'm huge on Kamara, and have him on my dynasty, but sometimes an increase in workload doesn't always mean a better outcome.

The more touches the more yards the more TDs= the more fantasy points

Fantasy measures volume bit efficiency

I hope you're right, hate seeing injury play a role in how a young career progresses.

Cook is easily a first round back if he doesn’t go down last year, he was killing it. Potential for Murray to vulture is my only concern, he did well in that role for them last year...or better than McKinnon who was awful at it. Still will be far and away the lead touch back with some very favorable game scripts

I think you take Kamara, you’re drafting him close to his ceiling. That’s not a knock but it’ll just be tough for him to top what he did last season in this offense. Then again we said the same thing about Freeman until it eventually came true last season after injury.
