Yes, to moderation.

The economy is going to get real shitty and they can just do Bill Clinton "it's the economy stupid" from a moderate leader from a Rust Belt State.

Likely candidates are Whitmer and Shapiro.

The problem is the entire DNC apparatus is staffed with racial political activists from the Obama era.

Hell, Obama is the one that kicked Biden out. His message is a loser and they won't get to shake that off until a few more election cycles.

What's Whitmer going to say that we didn't hear from Hillary and Kamala ? "You just hate women!!!"

It's pathetic.

No. They’ll go harder to the Left under the false assumption their message isn’t getting out.

They go back and forth, but in the aggregate do end up more left.

Kamala tried to run a campaign like she was moderate but people saw through the BS.

Kamala was chosen to lose. She's not a datapoint for 2028

No.

There aren't many moderate Dems left (they've been chased out or shouted down).

Progs are incapable of introspection. It's always that the voters just didn't get it. They are the embodiment of the Principal Skinner meme.

"It's the economy, stupid"

"I work for you (common man), not billionaires"

Typical Midwest moderate DEM/union stuff.

The Dems of the 90s would have won easy.

That's basically what happened. Trump is a 90s Democrat with more conservative economic policy.

sounds conspiratorial. But i'll listen. Why do you think the VP was the sacrificial lamb in your mind?

You realize the left has been filtering out those candidates in favor of intersectional candidates for some time now, right?

Tim Walz was SUPPOSED to be the type of candidate you speak of, but he's obviously not.

The left will lose their progressive energy and votes if they pivot to common sense issues. They're forced to signal to their lunatic base openly and publicly and it's stifles any attempts at appealing to practical people.

Going to have to attempt to move back to working class party. The collection of aggrieved identities isn’t sustainable.

It's definitely more of a movement that the middle is not radical.

Good luck. Trump's populism (which will be followed by Vance) will have a stranglehold on this group if they have even a decent four years.

When Biden was exposed their chances of winning cratered.

Picking an actually good candidate would be wasting them for 2028.

But they had to pick someone for down ballot races. They chose Kamala

Look at the date. That was when all the NPCs on here swore it was going to be Michelle Obama or Hakeem Jefferies.

This is all why nobody worth a frick would agree to be her VP. It would destroy their national profile and future in the party. So they ended up with some rando from Minnesota nobody outside of the state had ever heard of before.

Yes, hence this discussion

It's not working and the impending economic issues give them a great opportunity to reset.

They'll get in line.

No. They will double down on their insanity and further insist that Trump and his voters are all nazis, even the non-white Trump voters.

My take is no.

people are blind from the hype to whats about to happen. the MSM had a gold rush during Trumps first term and are not going to magically die like is being suggested.

wait until the videos of kids in detention centers being deported start to roll out. wait until the media finally decides to cover the jobs numbers that have been held above water by government jobs for the last 4 years. government jobs that elon plans to start slashing like crazy.

that, if anything, pushes dems further left as radicals like AOC will be all over the news crying in thousand dollar white pant suits. Vance became a star during the campaign and will now eat 4 years of Trump trashing by the media. does he survive that for 28? he will be the nominee in 28, its almost guaranteed, and like kamala will have tons of "baggage" from Trumps term.
