They cheated and got caught in some cases, and tried to cheat and got caught in others. I’m sure they got away with it in some cases.

It wasn’t any bigger to rig than it was in 2020. Trump looks to have gotten similar numbers. It’s the Democrats who are down.
2020 was just a strange year. Completely unique. Participation, without cheating, was sky high. Rule changes made it super easy to harvest votes, legal and illegal, from low propensity voters, and the Democrats seized those opportunities that a fractured Republican party didn’t.
I think the margin in 2020 came from cheating but not the huge popular vote. That was a function of frustrated, locked down Democrats voting in huge numbers because they focused all of those frustrations on Donald Trump.

Personally, the rigging part of 2020 started with the changes in election rules that were not passed as law by State Congresses.
I personally don't believe the riggining involved the machines themselves; the rigging was all of the unrequested "mail-out" ballots that were collected and filled out by operatives in about a handfull of states in large cities. Without that available, I just don't think they had a methodolgy to rig 2024. However, their future depends on them awarding illegals citizenship and the right to vote over the next few years.

It was 1000 times easier due to COVID and mail in ballots in 2020.
