How is it cost prohibitive? Getting tested at a clinic only costs like $50. You know what money they use to buy those drugs, right? That's your money

Drug testing I would support. Just not mandatory work. Not everyone is a worker by nature. Some people have a problem being in the right place at the right time on any consistent basis.

Michigan instituted such a requirement. Lots of people tried working when faced with a welfare cut off. Lots of those who tried working quit work after a couple of weeks. Michigan sent out case workers to interview them to find out 'Why did you quit your new job?'
The most common answer was "The boss kept tellin' me what to do."

I am actually against that. The cost is prohibitive and drug testing is unfairly skewed towards pot.

So they can afford to do drugs but still need welfare?

They should be required to do 40hrs of community service every week. Our taxes would go down and our communities would be clean and maintained.

What really pisses me off is a kid came in our store wanting to buy a gun. I aws filling out a credit check and I asked him his income, he got $790 a month for being fully disabled. I couldn't believe that someone in his condition received so little help while millions get $1000s of dollars every month and have nothing wrong with them.

These requirements already exist. They need to be better enforced.

if they are not capable of working, we lend them a helping hand and take care of them....if they won't work, just shoot them

I've always said there shouldn't be a single piece of trash on the streets or highways and the grass should always be cut in public places just simply by virtue of making those receiving handouts do something.

Most of us know nothing is free. If you're able-bodied, get off your a$$.

But everyone is an eater by nature. I bet you'd be surprised by the results when you tie working directly to eating. A bunch of people would probably figure out how to be "in the right place at the right time on any consistent basis" if doing so became the conditions for their survival.

Okay, then you don't get any money. Why should people receive an award for doing nothing? They are actually supposed to be either working or doing community service right now. It isn't enforced at all.

It's also nice how people can now spend government money on cigarettes, booze, and lobster
