No one cares what CNN has to say. Elections have consequences, remember?

Without the electoral college, candidates would cater to only the most populous states.
Plus I'd like to see that get through a Republican everything.

Eh, I'd rather popular vote, but not just because of this outcome.

Me thinks they don't understand the constitution...
Requires a constitutional Amendment.
It would require 2/3rds of States to agree.
Guess who wont agree to it? The States.
In over 1/2 of the states it would be dead before arrival.
Only our poor public education system would leave so many people so ignorant as to why it is there and should always stay .

My interpretation of the electoral college is to provide a voice to the most governing bodies, states, while also distributing a proportional effect in representation based on population. You see it with the senate (2 reps) and House of Representatives (based on pop) too.
We live in the United States of America, not America.
What is perceived socially righteous in NYC could be disastrous for other regions/ways of life. NYC has more people than Louisiana and Mississppi combined.
