Our 30 day window to book dining is coming up end of this month. Lining up where we are eating (just me and the wife this trip). Have 4 nights.

Want to do Extra Virgin, Morgans Mango and either Lime Inn or Longboard (leaning longboard).

Looking for recs for the other night or replacements for the 4 I listed.

ZOZo's will be closed when we go, so unfortunatly that is out (was my #1 choice).

We were there last week and really enjoyed La Tapa and Dave and Jerry’s Island Steakhouse.

Go with whatever buckeye says.
Tap room was just ok.

Lime inn and longboard were both good.
The terrace would be a good backup if extra virgin falls through.

Banana Deck is a good option. Oceans 362 has good (not great) food but if you sit at the bar the sunset can be spectacular.

Extra Virgin is a must. It may have passed Zozo's as the best on the island.

Of course, if you have a car lunch at Skinny Legs is always a good time. If you have a boat day lunch at Lime Out for tacos and drinks is a blast.

Definitely!
Bring some LSU gear and a few of the locals will hang out with you if they're there. Cool crowd.

No car this time (staying in Grande Bay) but, do have a boat day hitting Lime Out. We hit Skinny Legs every time we have a car though.

Question for the St. John Gurus. How important are reservations? I've got one scheduled for Morgan's Mango and Extra Virgin, but nothing for other nights. Will I have any trouble walking in to a place without an hour wait? Will be staying in Coral Bay so will be eating there most nights.

Shouldn't be a problem unless you want to eat at Zozo's as well. They're heading into low season but with travel restrictions lifting it could be more crowded than normal.

Take a day trip to Lovango Cay. I heard it has been poppin since the BVI's have been closed to day trippers.

As you noted, my top three I always visit (if Zozo's is closed) are Lime Inn, Morgan's Mango, and Extra Virgin. The lobster at Lime Inn is phenomenal. We love to hang out and have a drink at Longboard, but to me the food was fairly average. Their happy hour is a great deal though.

We had reservations for Morgan’s Mango and Extra Virgin Bistro back in early March. IMO Extra Virgin was much better than Morgan’s Mango. The food and the service was much better. However, I do remember overhearing our waiter telling some other people that they were having trouble keeping a full staff. My wife didn’t like Morgan’s Mango at all but, they may have just had an off night.

Morgan's Mango is the more touristy of the restaurants when it comes to Zozo's, Etrxa Virgin, etc. Extra Virgin is a fantastic restaurant.

We have 4 nights to fill - Extra Virgin is definitely going to be one. Lime Inn/ Longboard another and then have 2 other nights to decide.

What would you suggest for the other 2 nights?

Zozo's currently says they will be closed when we go (July 29th-Aug 2nd), if that changes we would do Zozo's the 3rd night.

Banana Deck and High Tide.

1864 and La Tapa I'm checking with friends because I have eaten at those. Will let you know when I hear back from them.

ETA: My buddy who has a condo in Grande Bay says that La Tapa is really good and was his favorite until Extra Virgin opened and that 1864 is very good. Based on what he said I'd go in order La Tapa, 1864, Banana Deck then High TIde.

Absolutely. Zozo's is a must if they're open. You're going at a time when some places shut down.

With kids summer activities and scheduling grandparents to watch them we had a very small window to go. Still wanted to go knowing some things would be closed versus not going at all.

Thanks for the rec's
