I love the Skids. My older sister introduced me to their music when I was a teen and I’ve been a big fan ever since. I would say that Sebastian Bach had the most powerful voice of any singer out of all the 80’s hard rock bands, quite frankly one of the most powerful voices in rock period.
On a lot of their songs, Baz totally rips, but on this particular song, I feel like he takes it to the next level

The power ballad deserves its own thread, I think. The Scorpions had some slower tunes on some albums leading up to 1979.
Also, I was shocked by the image change that Motley Crue endured as they went from their first album, to Shout at the Devil, and then to Theatre of Pain.

Also, check out the re-record of Still Lovin' You they did on Comeblack in 2011. It is crushing.

Depends on what you mean by hair band. I define them more by sound than looks. In the 70's and 80's most musicians had long hair. Just having hair isn't enough to classify a band as "glam."
I define a hair band as follows:
1) Long hair that took hours to style. The band members all are excessively worried about how pretty they are.
2) Most songs are focused on partying. Other songs are sappy love ballads.
3) Have somewhat of a pop sound. It's pop with guitars.
A band like Priest is definitely NOT a hair band. They invented thrash metal and all their songs were about crazy, angry shite. Metallica is not a hair band for the same reason, even though they all had big hair.
