AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka's muted reaction to President Biden's decision to derail the Keystone XL pipeline project shows the divide between union leadership and union members, Heritage Foundation economics research fellow Rachel Greszler told Fox News.
"The fact that Trumka was relatively indifferent to Biden's move to kill thousands of union jobs is troubling and revealing," Greszler said. "It shows that unions don't actually represent workers' interests, but rather union leadership's quest for power."

Labor groups have said Biden's Day One decision to nix the Keystone pipeline quickly eliminated 1,000 union jobs and could kill 10 times more in construction jobs that were expected to be created by the project.
quote:
"It suggests that he's going to get something in return for sitting silent on a matter that is negatively impacting [workers]," Greszler said, referencing union-backed policies like a $15 federal minimum wage and the PRO Act.

Unions are a microcosm of socialist government

That's politics.
We'll give you A but you have to give us B so we can appease C.

Buying of union leaders is closer to racketeering.

America in a nutshell
One of the main reasons we are where we are right now. The chase of that almighty dollar

You would prefer socialism?

No. We are in this position because people are selfish and generally not good humans, err huwomans?
I'm all for chasing the American dream, but I would never do so by intentionally pushing thousands of others down in the process, especially if they elected me.
Unions and media are the enemy of the people. They are powerful and control the people they claim to want to help.

A crooked union boss. The dickens you say.

No they are not. Socialism implies government ownership of production. Government healthcare is a good example.
Unions are good in terms of checking business owners with collective bargaining. Unions turn bad when union leadership become disloyal to their members like this situation.

$15 for the job you just lost making $60 dollars?

Do the Union Bosses still have jobs?
If "yes", then there's your answer.

And water is wet. Unions haven't been relevant for decades.

When are these frick heads going to realize that the Democrats are not friendly to blue collar jobs?

I greatly disagree, they are extremely relevant in buying of votes in political races. They may not be relevant or beneficial to their members, but they are for sure relevant to many politicians.

Oh, well with that explanation you are absolutely right. I was thinking of Unions that actually helped their members.

We should keep a running tab on how many of these threads are up without a single comment from a Biden supporter/voter.
Mention the stolen election and they show up like flies to dog shite. Threads on what the Biden administration is actually doing/not doing-----crickets.
