re: LSU could end up signing 3 5* WRs this year.

I could also pivot off of that and say that our coaching staff seen an opportunity to snag an EVEN BETTER quarterback in Joe Burrow, regardless of what Myles progress was. Just because Orgeron decided Burrow was better than Myles at the time doesn't mean that Myles will be a bad quarterback. Myles has the arm talent, and release to play in the sec. Learning behind a more developed quarterback in Joe burrow could be more helpful than 1 year of starting

Why would you make a comment like this. What would you have expected to see out of him that led to your opinion?
I guess, to be kind to OP, the interpretation could be that if Myles is starting because of a Burrow injury, we're in trouble not because of Myles' talents — but because our backup at that point is a true freshman.

Parrish isn't gonna lay down. Brennan will have to fight like hell for the starting spot in 2020.
Good let him push Brennan, competition makes everyone better!
But Parrish has about as much of a chance to unseat Brennan with his inconsistency issues he has, as a snowflakes chance in hell!!! Not happening chief, not happening!!!

Brennan is going to be a stud when he starts his last 2 yrs. jmo. He is the one guy that Burrow even saw in the rearview mirror last year and imo Brennan was a bit immature. He didnt put in the work to be at the weight he had to be at. I think being around Burrow has probably been the absolute best case scenario for Myles to learn the off field dedication.

These guys are absolutely perfect for our new system and will change our offense for years to come.
If LSU can some how get the attention of a big time 5* QB and he performs at an elite level while these guys are here. Well kiss everyone in the west who thought LSU was down and out goodbye because that will end our offensive struggles from then on.
I think when the OLman see this offense and who we are getting on offense they will believe what they see and we will finish this class with at least two top level OTs. I also believe LSU already has 2 or 3 all SEC type OTs on the roster. They simply have to continue to develop. Wire, Rosenthal and the kid from Michigan that committed last year I think will be a RT. Wire or Rosenthal will be the LT if not next year, the next.
We need to get a center this year and finish with at least 2 top level OTs to add depth and future success to that area and if we can then watch out. 2020 is looking good for the DL already. LB is all but full of talent. Looks like the CB position is good. I would like to get another big time safety and one of Milton or Evans. Imo neither will be done if they commit soon. Johnson would be a good get as well. Webb would be a monster addition also. I’d make room for all these guys and I think we will in the end. Of course I really do like Gaye and think he will be something special with a RS year and training.
Things are looking good. GT

I supposed the converse argument is that you were forced to bring in Burrow because Brennan wasn't READY YET. Remember, Brennan was penciled in as the presumptive starter going into his Soph. year. After spring ball the coaches clearly felt he wasn't good enough. And you can't really use the "youth" excuse when arguably the two best teams in the SEC over the past two years (UGA and Bama) have had great success with very young QB's That's not to say Brennan won't be a good QB. But I can understand hesitation about him since he, in essence, has already lost the starting job once.
FIFY for a little. It takes time with some QBs. With Brennan had to with lack of lbs. as much as anything.
The UGA and Bama cases are outliers and not as typical as some may think. Folks get their facts and reality skewed due to situations that stand out and think 'why can't this be our QB situation.' Not all QB were meant to start their FR year and most don't. We had success with five year QBs. See Matt Flynn and Rohan Davey and to a certain degree Etling.

I think Burton is the best of the bunch. I like him more than Jarrett personally. He is a Top 30-35 player IMO and deserving of a 5th Star.

What an a-hole!! Who you have as a starter in front of Myles?

Good call. IDK why people don't think Myles is going to be a good QB. I think he breaks every LSU passing record his first year at the helm.
I could actually see that too. Brennan is a gunslinger with a quick release and decently strong arm. Running a wide open offense with the bevy of receivers we have (the talent over the last two classes plus this third one would make it by far the most talented receiver group in the country), I expect him to put up crazy numbers. As a matter of fact, I expect this to be the best offense in LSU history in 2020 if Brady is really what we hope he is (and if he becomes the official OC).

That’s like saying we had to go after Max Johnson because TJ Finley wasn’t good enough.. neither have proven anything yet at this level, so why wouldn’t you take both if given the opportunity and let them compete for the job?
Getting Burrow was a win-win, as was an upgrade to the backup spot regardless of who ended up starting after fall camp.

This is the best Receiver class I can remember. It is absolutely filthy.
It's impressive, but Ohio states might be better.

What's with the hate for Myles Brennen? He has never taken any meaningful snaps.
bama game in tuscaloosa?
i mean the game was lost at that point but that was great experience for him in that hostile stadium

The only class I can think that was better from a WR trio standpoint is 2007:
#1 - 5* #8 Overall - Terrance Tolliver
#3 - 4* #9 Overall - Demetrius Byrd
#6 - 4* #40 Overall - DeAngelo Benton
That, in a run oriented offense...(oh Leslie!)

FWIW, Byrd was a juco and jucos are ranked separately from high school prospects.

In the Godfather Part II, Fredo tells Michael "I'm not dumb like they say, I'm smot!" Well there's a reason people call him dumb. In your case it's because you don't know wtf you're looking at. Those rankings by Bryd link to juco rankings, which aren't the same as high school rankings.
