Looking for little known gems and seafood, especially oysters.

Thoughts?

TYIA.

Alligator Soul

Ate here recently. It wasn't our favorite. It was expensive and the service was great, but the food was just a little above average IMO.

We also tried Collins Corner for brunch. It was packed and had a long wait, but was definitely worth it and everyone enjoyed it.

We hit the Pirate House for lunch. The food was good, but we had exceptionally bad service. I would definitely go back and hope for a different service experience.

The two highlights were the cheapest places: Leopold's Ice Cream was fantastic. Expect a long line. And, Savannah Seafood Shack. They do either a seafood boil or steam that was awesome.

Traylor Park near waterfront is worth a stop while traversing that area. Cool patio out back.

Go for shrimp in SAV.
Oysters there are small and overpriced.

Savannah really isn't a great food town honestly ... The Gray has great ambience in the main room, but just okay. Same with Alligator Soul and about every other place (worked there for 7 months and went everywhere).

Some good dishes to be had ... the scored flounder at a few spots is solid enough. Oysters at Sea Wolf are fun. Traylor Park is fun too with interesting drinks and items.

Sorry Charlie’s is probably your best bet for oysters. They always have a variety from different regions. They are expensive though. Chive on Broughton is good for seafood. The tuna ceviche appetizer is really good.

Have drinks at the rooftop bar of the Bohemian Hotel Rocks on the roof. Great view of the river. Also the rooftop bar Cotton Sa next door. If you like craft beer Two Tides brewery in the Starland district is putting out word class New England style ipas and sours. Right behind it is Starland Yard a food truck park made of shipping containers. Loki good truck is usually there . They do middle eastern inspired food . The zaatar fries are really good. There are a few cool little bars in the area as well. Right up the road is the Green Truck pub which has the best burgers in Savannah. Also Cotton and Rye is nearby . Good food and it’s worth making a trip just to have the Chile sumac honey wings. Seriously the best wings I’ve ever had. You also should check out the new Plant Riverside development. Really cool with lots of bars and restaurants.

I disagree. For a city of only 142,000 it has an amazing amount of really good restaurants.

That’s awesome. I didn’t know they were distributing. Have you tried any of their other offerings?

We enjoy going to Husk for brunch. Not sure that checks off seafood or oysters though

I load up every time I visit.
I've liked just about every thing I've had from them (did not care too much for their seltzer).

Sixfoot, Chromatose, Hydrus, How Much Cheese is Too Much, and any of their stouts.

I just wish they were within the open container jurisdiction. I always want a slushy togo when I leave.
