I just finished reading this book. The beginning of the book was not bad, but by the time it started getting bad I was already too far into it to not finish and well. I thought the ending was bad.

Anyone else read this book with the same thoughts of it?

I haven't read a Grisham book since about 2004 I think. I asked some people about recent ones but nobody said I was missing anything.

He had a good run going up through about the Last Juror I think. Definitely not up to his 90's standards but still at least solid reads.

Read Sooley. Your opinion will change very quickly. It's a shame. I have liked Grisham's sports novels in the past, but that one just pissed me off.

His first 3 books - A Time To Kill, The Firm, and The Pelican Brief - were all great books, but they started going down hill after that. A few decent ones immediately after those 3 - The Client, Runaway Jury, and The Rainmaker, but The Chamber was just bad. I can't remember what came after The Rainmaker, but I couldn't get past the first 50 or so pages and haven't touched any of his books since then.

Wife said one of his recent ones was really good, but I haven't given it a try yet.

Frankly, The Firm was his masterpiece.

There were some good moments in a couple of the others, but mostly hackish after The Firm.

This is where I gave up on him. I enjoyed The Firm and The Pelican Brief. But by the time that The Client came out, his books were starting to feel pretty repetitive to me.

Ya the firm is fantastic, and the one up through 2002 were pretty solid - definitely pulp books which can be thought of as somewhat hackish but still enjoyable to read for what they were.

Everything i've heard people say about his recent stuff is that it is largely unreadable.

Good reads when you just want to mentally escape and not have to think too hard. The fast food of books

Wait until his next book comes out and it will bump this from the top of your worst read books. He’s been pretty awful for a while.

That was where I quit reading his books. Major legal errors in a book written by a lawyer is pretty sad.

Grisham novels are good "airplane" reads, in my opinion. It's when you want something to breeze through when you're bored. I have never sat down with a Grisham book and had good expectations for it; I know what I'm about to read is just meh at best. Like a watered down Turow novel.
