Rekkles and G2 to part ways .. G2 is holding tryouts for ADC

C9 loses to DFM, so DFM wins the group and advances to group stage.

C9 awaits winner of Red Canids and Peace. Both should be easy either way.

C9 Smashes Peace and now gets put in group of death lol

C9 fricking choke away the game against FPX ...

I’m admittedly late to LOL. I started watching games during this years MSI, so I’m a C9 fan jst because they were the only NA reps (although I’m a huge fan of TL’s owner and I love the personalities on the EU teams listening to their comms).

A few observations:
1) Overall it is clear that NA is a weak major region. With the money tossed at LOL players and NA particularly, I’m surprised NA doesn’t have a stronger pool of native talent. The imports are generally the best players from my limited observations.

2) I don’t know how to explain C9’s problems. Most people see them as a very talented group, but they don’t mesh well. They don’t team fight in sequence and I think one player in particular is really messing up their coordination and timing that I will get to later.

3) Player Breakdown:
Fudge - keeper. He is a building block on the team. He is developing freakishly well from just the short time I’ve been following the team. Plus he is hilarious.

Perkz - IDC what he is paid, he is good. He needs the right support to play his style of mid, but I don’t think he should be replaced.

Zven and Vulcan - I’m grouping them together. IDK what to make of them. People say Vulcan is super consistent, but he also always dies especially in team fights (usually first). Maybe that is his role IDK, but he doesn’t seem to make a big impact. Zven is either really good or blah. Together they seems like talented player with average results.

Blabber - He is way too inconsistent. For every crazy pop off game he has, he sucks in 3 others. He is way to hyper in team fights and he is an absolute…well blabber in comms. Perkz is the shot caller and he can’t be heard half the time to call shots. I listen to other teams comms and they are so calm and collected. Blabber is a speed talking mess that fricks up the timing.

I don’t know enough about the game or the individual to judge the coach.

If I’m C9, Fudge and Perkz are my for sure keepers. Im shopping for an upgrade for a new jungles and I think while the Bot lane is talented, it isn’t working for whatever reason, so I’m shaking that up too. I don’t think they will compete for worlds anytime soon, but I think they can build a very strong regional team with “shock” potential.

Holy shite. Out of all three NA teams C9 looked the least likely to make it out of groups. Especially I the so called group of death. FPX was a tourney favorite too. Bet the Chinese fans aren't happy with them.
