We've played Florida every year since the 50's but yeah it's a made up rivalry

I agree. People aren't going to the games now (attendance is down...not sure about viewership)

Can't leave State out of the permanent rotation we've been playing them the longest I believe (and usually an easy W)

No offense, but I hated that format as a kid in the 70's. I think 1978 was actually the first time LSU had played UGA in Tiger stadium in like a quarter century.
The 5-1 rotation meant that neither Herschel Walker or Bo Jackson, arguably the two best football players in SEC history (before Joe Burrow, of course), ever played LSU at home or on the road.
If the pod system can keep that from happening again, I'm all for it.

Playing Texas and Oklahoma is fun but it's not the same as playing bama,auburn and Florida. We have so much great history with those teams as well as Ole Miss and State.

The only difference in bama's schedule is Florida/Tenn. Tennessee use to be good back in the day. Now bama getting Vandy is total bs so I concur on that one.

Play 7+3 and flip home-home after playing every team and you get to play each East team every three years. Win and more than likely you will be playing Bama every year. Win and you will see these teams in an expanded playoff.
