If you are staying at BC and want live music and dinner - one spot on southwest parkway Shore Raw Bar and Grill is a mix between Cajun Texan and Mexican and does Zydeco one night and Country the next night. Another spot out that direction for outdoor casual live music in Angels.

Yes, food is fine and view is great.

Rainey St is fun to explore

Heading there this week to visit a sibling that moved there a few months ago. Any good attractions where a lot of walking isn’t required? My parents both struggle to walk.

Food isn’t very good. Burgers and large nachos are solid but most people aren’t coming here for the food. But the views are fantastic and the drinks are decent. You’re pretty much only coming here for the scenery though, so if you’re only looking for good food, then skip the oasis. There is an upstairs to the oasis that has live music on the weekends, but it is your standard local cover bands.

If you do make it here then the closer you wait until sunset, the longer the lines will get. As mentioned, there is a brewery next door with the same exact views. It is actually attached to the Oasis and you just have to walk up another set of stairs to get there. If you wanna skip lines but experience the sunset over the lake, I’d suggest going eat a little earlier then walking to the brewery afterwards for a few drinks and getting the sunset there.

Or if you do have a long wait at the Oasis, you can walk to the brewery and have a few drinks while waiting. They will give you 7-10 minutes to get back to the restaurant once your table is ready before losing it, so you’ll have enough time to leave the brewery and go back to the restaurant. The brewery occasionally has bigger named Texas country bands playing there, so it will be closed to the public for the concert if they do have music scheduled that night. Make sure to check the music calendar first.

There is also a steakhouse across the main highway from Oasis that has solid views too called Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. It is pricier, but the food will be better although the view isn’t as good.
