How is it legal for colleges to mandate students get vaccinated, but exempt staff?

Many colleges who are mandating students get vaccinated to attend classes in the Fall, but are exempting staff from the same requirements. Staff are usually older and at greater risk for covid infection than younger less susceptible students, so it makes no sense. How can this practice be legal?
I might add, the covid vaccine is not FDA approved and was simply pushed out under an emergency order. No one knows the long term side effects such as infertility or other risks.

There might be some science behind it...

Same reason it’s legal to lower all entrance standards for black and Latino students while raising all standards for Asians and limiting acceptance rates of whites regardless of standards.

There is science behind it. Only, the science doesn’t support the action.
Students aren’t even allowed to show proof of natural antibodies, which illustrates, it isn’t based on student safety.

So, not legal

Behind mandatory vaccinations for the population that is least prone to contracting the virus and/or dying from it? Forced medicine on otherwise perfectly young and healthy people?
Are you a science denier ?

Measles mumps and rubella are relatively non lethal illnesses, do you refuse those vaccines as well?

But they’ll do it anyway and no one will care

There is nothing legal about forcing someone to get an unapproved vaccination.
It’s that simple. It’s why they are paying people and giving away free sporting event tickets.

How long have we used those vaccines? How long have they been approved by the FDA? How deadly are those diseases compared to COVID? Your argument is laughable.
What percentage of the population has those vaccines, many from the time of birth?

And those vaccines are FDA approved and have been tested long term.
Apples and oranges

MMR has a long history of use and only fringe safety concerns. Also, most people don’t get to choose since it’s given when they are very young.

Could be the best possible outcome for most of the loons going through the current "higher education" system.

Could be an interesting “unintended “ consequence. Bill Gates is sneaky smart
