Can someone school me on summer bass fishing in the bayous? What bait do I need? Time of day, I assume early to beat the heat. Anything would help. New to all of this and the amount of bait you can purchase is mind blowing. I got a Lew bait caster ready to roll

Fish the run outs where the clear water is mixing with the muddy water. Spinner bait or crank bait should do it. Good luck.

What area you plan on fishing?
Summertime bass are usually in the points at canal intersections and on the edge of the bayous along the grass beds. I like a white and yellow humdinger with a willow blade. Get on the edge of the grass bed and reel that spinnerbait in along the grass edge

texas rigged soft plastic behind a 1/8oz weight, like others said you'll catch anything that swims on an UV speed craw in a dark color

Do you just throw and reel in quickly? I have some of these, the spinner baits. Need the crank bait. Never tried one
