To be fair, Koch started and crazy Bloomie continued what must be considered a Herculean effort, epitomized by Giuliani who did a good bit of heavy lifting in that middle period of transforming Midtown Manhattan which was definitely a shithole in the mid-70s to one of the pinnacles of modern, big city life glamourized in the 1990s.
Electing de Blasio, an avowed Marxist, is the fault of the voters of New York City. They deserve the consequences, frankly.

Koch may have started it but Dinkins’ 4 years dropped it to another low before Giuliani got it.

No question - it was a setback. That's why I didn't credit him. Koch got the ball rolling, Dinkins was a setback, Giuliani did most of the heavy lifting and Bloomie did a decent job of maintaining (other than the tyranny) and de Blasio lit fire to the place, almost immediately.

Read this earlier. It’s a great article. Democrat shitholes are where the real gun violence and other crime are embedded. Despite this, they want to teach us how to live peacefully and take away our environment.

These claims of systemic white supremacy are centralized in urban areas where democrats have dominated local governance for decades - many of these areas have predominately minority leadership. How does the left reconcile this?

I’ve made this very point about failed Democratic leadership in the major, most violent cities to my liberal friends who want to paint conservatives and Republicans as the cause.
They have no answer why DEMOCRATS allow this and once my question is asked, they NEVER want to continue the conversation.
