Is the water warm enough in the winter/spring to wade fish without waders in mid/south Texas gulf coast inside?

I've never been fishing in my waders and wished I had that money back in my pocket. They are worth the expense. It makes wade fishing enjoyable in the cooler weather.

I used to wade around San luis pass in winter. I have gone without waders but never in water deeper than my knees in winter or spring.

Well I fished a lot in cold water fisheries up north in the summer. Never wore waders in summer but have lost feeling in my toes a few times.

One time I went steelhead fishing in jan and that water was so cold my waders nor my wool socks could keep the up river foot warm.

Winter steelhead separates the men from the boys.

Explain this..
Not steelhead, but I’ve fished for trout many times, in extremely cold, moving water.
Never noticed a difference in my two feet.

I lived in Cypress for 8 years and fished SLP, Cold Pass, across the road in the surf, Ernies Christmas bay all the time.

Man I miss that, we would use live shrimp under a hard plastic popping cork and catch all kinds stuff.

Slot reds, huge flounder, specks (and a bunch of trash fish).
