Adding three million jobs in a state with a population of five million would be impressive, if it were true.

He's added 3 million jobs to a state with 4.6 million people and yet we are somehow losing population?

Here's data from April. The whole damn labor force of the state is around 2 million.

quote:

Louisiana’s seasonally adjusted civilian labor force, or the number of people who are employed in addition to those looking for work, decreased by 188,539 from 2,126,568 in March 2020 to 1,938,029 in April 2020.

Here's the state economic growth rankings published in August. I'll save you a click, Louisiana is ranked 50th

It's murders, isn't it? That's the record you allude to; fueled by expanding poverty, right?

I voted for him. With that said, I have a question for you.

Do you know for a fact that David Vitter and/or Eddie Rispone would have done a better job than JBE?

When JBE took over, the state had a $2 billion deficit, which he was able to get fixed (with the help of state congress of course because that's how government works).

State government contracts have been reduced under him. And I think he has worked/continue to work on criminal justice reform.

He really hasn't been that bad.

We didn’t have a 2B dollar deficit.
We had 2 Billion dollars less revenue than we needed to continue our current level of spending. The reasons vary, but the oil bust, the Great Recession and a failure by Jindal to cut spending or raise taxes.
JBE solved the revenue problem by raising taxes, and to a much lesser extent used one time money to balance the budget.

And I sincerely believe that Vitter and Rispone would have done better than JBE.
JBE had put La. in jeopardy with higher taxes, pushing citizens to leave the state and with his anti business policies. We continue to cater to special interests, his friends and little is done to put La. in a real race fir business eith out Southern neighbors.
