Had two of them installed today. One went to an existing spot connected to a light switch in the garage. The second one was installed 20 feet from it and wires ran back to the first for power.

The second Ring spotlight won’t ever turn off. I have the motion zones set and sensitivity turned down. It just stays on all night while the other goes on and off with motion like it’s supposed to. What’s causing this?

Just call Ring as well.

They'll likely just send you a new one. They're pretty easy to work with if you've made a big purchase.

Most of those lights have a setting for constant on. I would double check the switches.

Ring sent a new one.

It was installed.

It’s still doing it. What gives? Has to be something with running the new wires to the exiting floodlight, right?

Have you tried swapping the original with the second? That would 100% confirm it’s the wiring. I’ve been sent faulty parts before is all.

So you are saying it’s always on, or you can manually turn it off?

ETA: I gotta assuming you babe the wiring messed up if you can manually turn it off.

I can manually turn it off through the app but within one second, it turns back on.

Is it possible something is kicking the sensor on? A branch or plant moving may be kicking on the sensor? So it’s actually working properly.

I thought of that.
I have the motion zone turned away.
And also, I toggled the light off and it came back on, about 60 times over the course of three calm nights.

What happens if you turn ALL zones off? Would it still kick on?

It's the same router!

LED sensors are finicky. You might be getting some dirty power between the 2 units causing it to act up.
