Lifestyle change update!!

I couldn't find my original thread so I'll update here.
In January 2019 I went for my annual physical. I weighed 235 (I'm 6'2), BP was 140/112, cholesterol was 266, 38 inch pants. I'm 43 years old. The doctor told me he was giving me 6 months to get my cholesterol and BP down or he was putting me on medicine for both. My dad has a history with 2 heart attacks.
I set my mind to change my lifestyle for myself, wife, and two kids. I went back 6 months later and was 50 pounds lighter (weighed 185) BP was 118/72, cholesterol was 188. The doctor could not believe what I had done.
I didn't go on a diet, i simply changed my lifestyle. I';ve always been active and always go to the gym, but I wouldn't eat the best. I went 6 weeks with 1500 calories/day. Every 2 weeks I would add 200 calories/day. ZERO CHEAT DAYS FOR 10 WEEKS.
Fast forward to today, almost 2 years later. Im 195 right now (gained 10 pounds during quarantine and didn't eat the best), BP is way below normal and I wear a 32 inch pants.
Any questions, ask away

Did you follow a macro breakdown or just 1500 cals a day? What was your ending calorie intake?

That sounds like a diet.

I followed no plan, just caloric intake. Ended at 3,000 calories a day
