Agreed 87. With those three going at it tooth and nail just to get to finals they knew the was gonna be one of the other two AND THEN..

Greatness comes alive. Yes I like tennis. The idea of going out there on the biggest stage and playing in a match and then delivering on that with a 5 set classic is something to be witnessed........

Sports will never see anything like Fed, Rafa, Djokovic ever again. All three guys are closing in on all time records and they PLAY AT THE SAME TIME. That’s insane. If they didn’t have each other in their era the records would be shattered beyond compare

Maybe that's an indication of the three of them (who i enjoy watching a ton) or maybe its an indication of how bad the younger generation has been.

In most phases of sports, you have a "passing of the guard" time, where the older guys get beat out by the younger guys. It just didn't happen with this generation in Tennis.

I mean Duncan, Kobe and Lebron all overlapped and won a ton of rings each. Tennis has 4 majors a year (not one NBA title) so you just have more opportunity

Its kind of crazy how when people talk about dominant athletes, no one ever mentions Gretzky.

Especially the Americans.

Once we basically exited the picture in tennis besides Serena it was just Fed's game and then Rafa.

The 80's you had constant changing of the guard. Your peak was 5 years at best.

Tennis was supposed to be a young man and women's sport...it's ridiculous that you can have a 38 year old man and a 38 year old woman and still probably be the best players on the planet.

Gretzky's peak is unparralled. He was like Babe Ruth. His numbers dwarfed the guy in second place...and he won title after title.

But he was never as awesome once he went to L.A.

He got older. You're not supposed to be as good when you're older...which is the strange situation with Fed and Serena.

If not for injury Jordan would have taken the Wizards to the finals his first season with them. People forget how good they were in those last 15 games that him and Rip Hamilton played together

The 37-45 team where Jordan played 60 games? The one where Chris Whitney was the third leading scorer on the team?

Also, they went 7-8 in the last 15 games of their season.

When I think of an athlete, a golfer is the last thing that comes to mind!

Barkley says Muhammad Alli was the most influential person in my life

When Ali died Chuck was all about his being the greatest of all time and that he would never be forgotten

Well, i guess he forgot

Well, if Lebron “won a ton of rings”:...I guess he lost a double-ton of rings.

The team was 26-21 when Jordan hurt his knee. He tried to play another 13 games off the bench.

Hamilton missed 5 weeks earlier in the season.

The last 15 games the Wizards played when both were healthy they went 15-1

I would call it more of a game, like darts with long walks between shots. I would never call a golfer an athlete.

Which is just stupid.

Running doesn't make an endeavor athletic.

Oh they are now...... Tiger set the trend of YES a nice lean body can help your game even more....... just look at players in today’s game and compare to say the mid 90’s.

Hard not to mention Phelps and Bolt in that discussion. If Chuck had used competitor I accept Tiger in the conversation but then that opens a whole new subset of athletes like Pete Rose. Tiger was transformative as far as athleticism in golf but comparing him as an athlete to the likes of Phelps is ridiculous to me. Being the best athlete in a sport that certain people could be competitive at the highest level while being obese and while drinking a 12 pack and smoking a pack of cigarettes while playing doesn't really move the needle for me.
