people made bad life choices

They might have made bad life choices, but those choices will eventually affect us all in a public health sense (not that they haven't already), because in this case, the sheer number of possible people who have underlying issues warrants quite a bit of caution.

To undo those life choices would require massive changes in how we approach nutrition, as well as how we design cities, among other things. No one in any leadership position is willing to make a connection between the land policy and individual health, though the connections have been made in disparate disciplines, ranging from medicine to urban planning to land use to farming to subsidization policy.

One example off the top of my head (and for which I'm having trouble finding the exact citation). There are two cities around 200 miles from one another, with massive elderly populations. One city has it mandated that every 3 story building must have an elevator, and the other does not. The rates of CV disease in the city without mandated elevators is much lower.

Which countries? The usual claim is that the Gates Foundation was kicked out of India, but that is not true. Here's an op-ed by an Indian who left the Gates Foundation in 2019, not because of any "vaccine" irregularities, but because the foundation wanted to award the Prime Minister, Modi, an award, an act this particular staffer disagreed. I'm linking it to show that the foundation is still active in the country. LINK

In addition, the group that was cited by the Indian government for unethical vaccine trials was PATH, a separate organization that works with the Gates Foundation. PATH forged consent forms and no deaths were actually linked to the trial itself, but the investigation itself is evidence enough for some people. PATH is also still in India to this date.

The ease with which people blame Gates and ascribe to him notions of population control is alarming. We had a TB specialist speak to us about advances in TB medication, and he ascribed most of the advances to the funding Gates provided, beginning after he left Microsoft. New medications for TB were developed and approved for the first time in a half-century, I believe. TB is still a massive problem too. I believe something like 2% of all causes of death are linked to TB worldwide. If Gates was interested in population control, then why did he and others put money into tuberculosis research?

See the responses to my posts earlier in this thread. The crazy conspiracy theorists have infected this board. Heaven forbid Gates be more on the liberal spectrum. That one thing seems to be enough for people here to demonize a guy who has done a lot of good around the world and saved millions of lives. What other single citizen of the US can claim that?
