Should forfeit their pay checks and pensions now
That includes congress.

It should all be given to Trump. He has earned it.

Thousands of people are losing their jobs and being put out of business.
Because of their decisions.
They have zero risk.

You can call me any names you like.
The left wing media and the Faucis of the world and congress will continue to get their paychecks and pensions.

You can crawfish if you like but I notice you didn't repeat your assertion that all state and federal employees deserve to make zero money because "their decisions" caused this. You aren't very bright are ya?

I agree gravy but your missing a few zeros...

I don’t crawfish
Government employees should be at risk just like every citizen put out of work and every company put out of business

So the military should stop getting paid? They are federal employees after all.

You are blaming middle class people for the decisions of federal and state elected officials. You also are on a false premise. Wait til next Fiscal year if you don't think any of them will be impacted.
They aren't going to furlough their entire staff just because you want to be petty.

So an HVAC guy that works for Facilities at LSU had something to do with JBE decisions and deserves to lose his job and pension?

Aight... who touched you and where?

I’m a State Probation and Parole Officer. I have worked throughout this, including field supervision of my cases that included home visitations. I have not had ANY PPE. I have put my life at risk as well as that of of family.
Why exactly should I forfeit my income and benefits?
By the way, a P&P Officer in Baton Rouge died last week in a car accident that was job related. I guess she shouldn’t have been paid either.
I get your anger but, we had nothing to do with this.

It is absolutely criminal that congressmen get a pension in the first place.

Nobody really wants you losing pay or benefits. I think a lot of "non-essential" workers are very tired of being called non-essential, and being told "we are all in this together" when clearly the government has arbitrarily picked winners and losers in the COVID sweepstakes.

That is the dumbest shite I have heard since this has started.
Who the F do you think is going to process all your unemployment checks, run your prisons, court systems, health depts., etc.?????
State workers do not seem to be essential until your dumb arse goes to the DMV, or whatever state office to get something done. Then you bitch because there are not enough people to help you, long wait times, etc.
98% of your state workers make 20% to 30% less than they would in a private sector job, and they are forced to participate in the "pensions". You don't get to opt in or out like you do with a 401K.
Maybe your company should claw back their contributions to your 401K to help keep from laying off people.
Every state and federal agency is and will be required to provide 100% of their service level during and after this shitfest. How the hell are they supposed to do that if they have no employees?
You think the state economy is bad now, pull the paychecks and retirement from the state's largest employers (Fed/State agencies) and you will be in for a new world of economic hurt. You would tack on 65,000 plus to the unemployment numbers from active employees alone.
LINK
Sorry for the rant but I have a few friends who work in state govt. and I wouldn't deal with the stuff they tell me they have to deal with for 20% to 30% of my salary, pension or not. Some of us also need them there to quickly process stuff for our businesses when we do get back running full steam.

i Understand the frustrations out there and quite frankly, I think the shutdown was bullshite.
Posted on 5/5/20 at 9:30 pm to Rohan Gravy
State employee here... i didn’t do a damn thing that impacted this shutdown and I’ve been spending my days trying to help ppl get their unemployment benefits ....why should my meager pay be held?
