Gonna do this tomorrow. Got some tasso, onion and seasonings to throw in too. Mine seem to come out more on the runny side as opposed to the creamy side sometimes. Whats the ideal amount of water to add for a 1lb bag?

recipe

I did red beans in the crock pot yesterday and used the recipe off their site for them. turned out fine, needed to cook longer then they say, but otherwise very good for crock potting.

If it's the same as red beans, then about 7 cups.

Cook on High for 12 hours, with 8 cups of water, stir it every hour after 5 or 6 hours, and they will be creamy

Report back. Perfect consistency I was looking for. Now I need to refine what meats to add for flavoring. What you got? The tasso I used didn’t impress me.

I just used andouille and smoked sausage, better than bouillon, salt and pepper and cayenne.

But I also cooked mine in a pressure cooker. 50mins on high, 30 min and then release.

perfect.
