Would've been great today. Cut the fat and sign a clean bill.

Would you be ok with a Democrat president having that same power?

Yes.
*I think it would be a way for the American people to finally see where any proposed policies go...the quality of their lives and economy under socialist policies vs the quality of their lives under conservative policies.*

If the Democrat would cut out the Kennedy Center BS etc. Then Yes.

It was rightfully deemed unconstitutional. We don’t throw out the constitution because it is difficult.

Unnecessary if Trump would have stated from jump that anything other than a one line clean bill would be vetoed with extreme prejudice. And That all those obstaining from voting on any bill will be identified in every weekly press conference along with those votes on record.
Pulling back the curtain on every issue is the only way those cocksukkers will learn

The issue is not a new one. The constitution of the Confederacy specifically allowed line item vetoes.

If all of these states and municipalities continue to make authoritarian overreach with "emergency powers", then hell yes Trump should attempt a challenge to the unconstitutionality of Line Item veto

Not even a little

“Line item veto” is one of the most anti-Constitutional, authoritarian, moronic proposals ever floated.
EVERY piece of legislation is the end-result of negotiation ... legislative give-and-take amongst 535 folks elected by everyone in this country The very essence of our representative democracy.
And every few years we get some group of idiots with a mancrush on the then-current occupant of the Oval Office, proposing that ONE PERSON with 51% support have the power to undue that delicate balance.

In general I support the idea of making it a Constitutional Amendment, but what stops a President from allowing spending/allocations but vetoing revenue generation.
I would prefer ending the omnibus monstrosities where both sides of Congress serve up a shite sandwich that America has to eat.
1 bill
1 function
1 clear title that relates to it
If they want to fund 18,000 different programs, make their asses vote on every damn one of them while in session.

One bill one law/regulation/order.
A thousand plus pages for a stimulus bill is ridiculous. I assume the hope is folks stop reading part of the way through and say F it.
