Think I remember that Ensminger called most offensive plays while Brady called the plays on 5 WR sets and red zone.

Possibly dumb question,...who made the situational calls for 4 wides vs 5 wides in the first place? Ensminger decide we need 5 wides in a particular situation and then turned over to Brady to make the call?

Wveryone tried to speculate who called what plays etc. who gives a shite, they got it done as a team!

Let’s hope E can continue this success going forward instead of trying to pinpoint which plays Brady called

If you watched the show last night after the NCG , Brady was very vocal in the booth and seemed to be running things.

Hope whoever takes his place can do the same in 2020

I remember O saying multiple times throughout the season that Ensminger called the plays.

Amazing the so called fans that refuse to give E any credit.
...even after a 15-0 season.

People are giving E credit, to varying degrees. It’s just hard to pinpoint exactly how much credit to give him. You can’t give him 100% of it because we all know he didn’t do it all by himself...and that’s not a bad thing.

I give him a ton of credit just for committing totally to this offense and not getting conservative.

Back to question...it’s 3 and 5 from the LSU 40 yard line.

The decision has to be made do we go 4 wide or 5 wide.

Who makes that call? Has to be E?

Point being...that decision is just as important as whatever Brady might have dialed-up if the answer was to go 5 wide.

All I remember seeing was that Brady would call some third down and red zone plays. I don't remember any distinction about five receiver sets. It seems like such a thing would never work if he had a play in mind with another formation and Ensminger told him to go to five wide and Brady had to change the play. I don't think Brady was restricted to five wides.

I read an article awhile back that was written by Matt Hayes. He said Brady each week would watch every touchdown scored in the NFL. If he saw something he liked, he would install it in the LSU offense for the next game. Brady said there were times that they would just rep the play one time in practice, then run it in the game and score a touchdown.

That would be Ensminger and Linehan that's taking over in 2020...….

I would bet they had scriipted situations for ever contingency and would run that play or choice of plays. If Ensminger wanted more input or some things had happened earlier that might alter his choice he might ask Brady.
Brady would be watching certain tendencies of the defense through the game and keeping Ensminger apprised.

Neither coach was concerned about who gets " credit " , only our angle seeking fan base obsesses on this.

Not sure it matters but Ensminger probably did because there was not any other sets called. SE, if I recall correctly, said something like, “You got it, Joe.” This not to say Joe might not have suggested a play at times. Most of these “bunch” and “empty” sets were called on 3rd down.
