Looking to take a family vacation next year somewhere different than Disney or Destin. Both kids 3&6 have been multiple times. Would like something nature based but not Tennessee.
Any ideas? Wife is throwing out Monterey Bay, Ca and driving to Yosemite and Sequoia.
ETA late June

Estes Park Colorado. It is right next to the Rocky Mountain National Park. We went as a big group last year and everyone loved it there. Since you have little kids I would suggest staying at the YMCA of the Rockies. Tons of activities.

What do you guys like to do OP? There are tons of underrated summer options out there that are very affordable. There are nice resorts all around the country, national and state parks everywhere, etc.
Rent an RV and road trip somewhere. Go to a big city like Chicago.

Sequoia and Yosemite are awesome. We’ve always done beach, Disney, rinse-repeat. Last year I wanted my kids to start having an appreciation for our national parks, so we went on a road trip and hit several. This year we are driving out to the mighty 5, Mesa verde, sand dunes, black canyon, and dinosaur national monument. My kids are stoked.

Our favorite family vacay ever was to the CWS in 2009.
Also loved Gatlinburg. We used to rotate beach/other. It was a nice change.

Mesa Verde was cool. We also rode the bus to Silverton and took the coal train back. I was pregnant and slept half of the time but my husband loved it and what I did see was awesome.

With kids that age consider Callaway Gardens.
Look into the Summer Family Adventure package. Plenty of organized activities for the kids plus golf, tennis, fishing and other outdoor activities for the adults.
