I'll throw my name in the hat. Though when he was hired I didnt root for us to lose to get rid of him, I just didnt have faith that he would work out. He's proved me wrong and I've already eaten crow on that

Still think Alleva's business tactics were retarded though.

I'm thrilled to say that I was dead wrong about Coach O.

The more interesting question is: should we now reevaluate Joe Alleva considering that it turns out he made home run hires for the 2 most important sports programs within the athletic department? Literally top 3 coaches in each sport for relatively cheap contracts?

Hot take: If we had known that Coach O was capable of shuffling the deck and becoming a top 5 CEO in all of college football at this time last year, Alleva would still be here and comfortably so.

Just because something works out doesnt mean it's the right way to go about things. I'm glad it's working out the way it has so far but the way he conducted himself is not how you conduct business as an AD

I’m not sure where I fell with the hire. I’m usually not one to overreact too much so I probably fell somewhere in the middle. That being said at the time it was a terrible hire. He’s proven to be otherwise but the way it was handled and with the other options available it was terrible.

Alleva had far too many PR blunders to keep his job:
November 2015 - the Les Miles/Jimbo saga

October 2016 - how in the world was LSU allowed to be painted the bad guy in the Florida Hurricanegate? Two words, Joe Alleva.

March 2019 - the handling of Will Wade

I was one of them as well. The man has fielded probably the best team in LSU history and I am willing to eat my crow. This is a fun team to watch.

He wasn’t my pick but I’m a homer and like everything with my teams, I talk myself into it. I thought he’d recruit well and surround himself with smart guys.

But not even in my wildest dreams did I see him recruiting from east coast to west coast like he has this year. I thought he'd lock down the state. And I definitely didn't see an offense like this coming by hiring a 29 year old analyst.

I was more disappointed at the lack of a legitimate search than keeping O. But I definitely never imagined this.

I'll admit to it.

But I sure as heck never pulled against him.

I wanted Herman. Had several pretty good melts about it. Apparently I’m stupid and don’t know what I’m talking about.

Lol. I don’t know if anyone would have taken O over Herman back then. I was disgusted with the search but once O was hired I pulled for him even though I wasn’t sure how he would do.

who could have predicted that adding a competent offensive scheme and a competent QB to a program overflowing with world class talent could produce winning results?

that’s crazy talk

The process was s complete joke but that was on the usual suspect(s) ie Alleva/Alexander. O has overcome a rocky start. I hope he continues to do well.
