6) Florida
If we haven't already when does Lsu leap frog Tennessee?

can't even bring yourself to list the no. 1 team.

Bama Derangement Syndrome is real.

Seems like a few more years of sustained success and LSU can pass up Tenn and Georgia for #2 in the SEC.
They do still have 20 and 35 more total wins, and that seems a bit difficult to catch over the next decade.
But the SEC championship mark should be within reach.

All time Wins:
1. Bama - 910
2. Tenn - 839
3. Georgia - 823
4. LSU - 804
5. Auburn - 772
6. Florida - 730

SEC Titles:
1. Bama - 27
2. Tenn - 13
3. Georgia - 13
4. LSU - 11
5. Auburn - 8
6. Florida - 8 + 1 vacated

Ga Tech has 5 SEC titles, Tulane has 3.
Both are more than Kentucky, Miss State, Arky, Mizzou, USC, A&M, & Vandy.

LSU is the only school with 10 SEC championships in each of the 3 main sports: Football, Basketball, & Baseball.

depends on how you define prestige

bama is obviously 1. Despite what people want to think, even after a decade of complete suckage TN is still 2nd in teh sec in just about every major category due to their success prior to 2008. Although they are barely hanging on by a thread to that position. The next group of UGA/UF/LSU/AU is generally all right there together separated by a whisker here and there in different categories. Personally I would have LSU and UGA at 3/4 in whatever order you choose, you coudl pick out of a hat really. Then UF ever so slightly behind, then AU ever so slightly behidn them.

Agreed.

LSU and UGA are interchangeable for #3 IMO, with us maybe being slightly ahead. They have more SEC titles, but we have the edge in national titles, and more recent ones too.

agree with all of htis. UGA has more wins, more bowls, more bowl wins, better overall win%, more SEC titles...but 1 less national title which is typically a good trump card. The programs are remarkably even over 100+ years of football.

Are the 90's for LSU the worst decade of any of the top 6 programs? I feel like we would be ahead of Tenn if we would have not been so horrible then.

The 2010's for Tennessee.....

ETA.....eerily similar to LSU in the 90s....Tenn is 60-62 but has 2 (3 with a bowl) games left....LSU was 54-58 in the 90's (there were only 11 regular season games then), so I guess slight edge to 2010s Tennessee- guess our decade in the 90s was the worst.

2.UTe
3.UGA/LSU

And you could argue that LSU should have #3 by themselves with UGA in 4. Overall wins are meaningless. Win percentage is everything. LSU and UGA are effectively tied in win percentage.

UGA has a couple extra SEC titles over LSU but LSU also has two or three extra national championships that if they were Alabama, they would claim. One for sure they should claim and for some reason just absolutely refuse to. Ironically, it was a shared National Championship with Minnesota.

How fitting would it be if Minnesota does the unthinkable and stays the undefeated course, locking the dynastic Alabama out of the playoffs, LSU's Nemesis, and LSU goes on to win another national championship.
