Anyone else stunned that when factoring in development cost, that one of these drones cost the taxpayers nearly a quarter of a billion dollars?

Well, it is about the size of one.

And $180 million isn't close to a quarter billion.

Only 38% away from a quarter of a billion.

According to the GAO, unit cost is 222 million dollars. That’s what I was using as the basis for my statement.

Training for a single Recon Marine is estimated at 1MM.

No, I'm not surprised.

But the recurring cost (the cost to build 'one more' on the end of a production run) should be much lower.
That is the relevant number.

And yes, I am all for DJT telling Iran that if it was the action of an overzealous underling, they should pay restitution. If they aren't willing to pay for their mistake, then they own it and we will take retribution instead. And DJT can offer his personal guarantee that the restitution would be cheaper than the retribution.

If that is out of your price range for drones I suggest starting at Wal-Mart or if you want, Amazon.

Maybe we can get some of Obama’s gift back to cover the loss.

Nope!

Do you know how hard it is to find people capable of designing and building these things? Blame the education system!
